Joy Bain Exhibition

Sunday, March 04, 2012

Joy Bain studied textiles at Duncan of Jordanstone in Dundee from 1985 to 1989. She no longer works in textiles but the bold graphic style is still very evident in her work, her transition from design to fine art has been a natural creative journey. Her style could be described as naive in the fine art tradition and by this the meaning intended is that she is naturally creative with no inhibitions. There is no division between her and her art. her work is emotive and makes people laugh. She has exhibited internationally and is a respected painter/printmaker with a style of her own.
