Ripasso meaning ‘go over’ in Italian is a method of taking a Valpolicello wine and making it fuller and richer in flavour without going to the lengths that an Amarone wine would undertake. Often know as a ‘baby Amarone’ although not by producers!It’s not as intense as the Amarone which some people prefer. I love both depending on my mood.

With vines 40-80 years old it always a good start for wine. This Zinfandel is stunning, with mouth-filling juicy raspberry and ripe boysenberry fruit. Hints of spiced chocolate integrate well with fruit that is surprisingly luscious and silky, partnered with black pepper backbone that gives structure and weight. A hearty wine which I’m sure you’ll love.
